Membrane Wastewater Treatment

Membrane technologies can separate fine suspended and dissolved constituents while providing a high degree of control over treated-water quality. In wastewater treatment they may be used as an advanced polishing stage or as part of an integrated process train.

Membrane performance depends strongly on upstream treatment, contaminant loading, pressure, cleaning regime and required final water quality. The membrane stage should therefore be considered together with preceding processes rather than as isolated equipment.
