Mechanical Water Filtration

Mechanical filtration is a fundamental water-treatment stage used to remove sand, rust particles, scale, suspended solids and other undissolved contaminants. It helps protect downstream treatment equipment and household plumbing from fouling and premature wear.

The required filtration grade and equipment type depend on the water source, particle load and size, flow rate and downstream treatment requirements. Mechanical filtration can operate as a standalone stage or as part of a complete home water-treatment system.
