Mechanical Wastewater Treatment
Mechanical treatment is one of the first stages in most wastewater-treatment processes. Its purpose is to remove coarse, fibrous and floating material, grit and other solids that could interfere with downstream processes or damage equipment.
This stage may use screens, sieves, screenings handling systems, grit removal and other mechanical solutions. Equipment selection depends on flow rate, wastewater composition, particle size and site conditions. Individual equipment model names should not remain separate public direction pages.
